Total transformation of Gboard!: The new update that speeds up the Google keyboard on your mobile

Gboard, Google’s keyboard, is full of amazing features and is widely used in Spain. Recently, he received a significant update which further improves your using experience.

The Google application now incorporates the ability to Automatically revert to the standard alphabetic keyboard after using an apostrophe.

Until now, using apostrophes (‘ or `) in Gboard required users to manually switch back to the standard keyboard with an extra tap, something many had already gotten used to.

The novelty is that now we can configure the application so that this change is made automatically by pressing any type of apostrophe.

It may seem like a minor change, but significantly optimizes the typing experiencemaking it faster and eliminating the need to manually switch to the standard keyboard.

According to Android Police, this change had already been detected in the application code, and was mentioned by 9to5Google previously, but has now been implemented in beta version 16.6 of Gboard.

However, since it is a new feature in the beta version, not all users have access to it immediately, even if they have the beta installed.

Nevertheless, users can try to access by participating in the beta through the Google Play Store and updating to the latest version which should be available immediately.

The option to automatically return to the alphabetic keyboard after using an apostrophe is an optional configurationactivated from the Google keyboard settings.

This setting is shown in a screenshot with the “Auto-switch after apostrophes” option.

It makes sense to implement this feature, since not all users are in the habit of typing accurately in applications like WhatsApp or Telegram, but for others, this small adjustment represents “peace of mind” by saving an extra touch each time these special keys are used.

It is these types of details that lead many users to switch between SwiftKey and Gboard, or vice versa, especially when we get used to a typing style in which any minor change can alter the way we type on mobile devices or tablets.
