Aeroméxico is once again the most punctual airline in the world in 2025, according to Cirium

Aeroméxico reaffirmed its leadership in global commercial aviation by ranking, for the second consecutive year, as the most punctual airline in the world, according to the On-Time Performance Review 2025, prepared by the international consulting firm Cirium, specialized in analysis of the airline sector.

This recognition consolidates Aeroméxico as the only Mexican airline that has achieved and sustained this level of operational performance on an international scale, integrating it into a small group of operators capable of consistently maintaining world-class standards.

THE REPORT

According to the report, the airline topped the global ranking with an arrival punctuality of 90.02%, surpassing companies such as Saudia, SAS, Azul, Qatar Airways and Iberia, in a particularly challenging environment for the airline industry.

During the evaluated period, Aeroméxico operated 188,859 monitored flights, recorded a completion factor of 99.74% and achieved a departure punctuality of 91.88%, figures that reflect not only operational efficiency, but also high reliability in the execution of its flight network.

Performance becomes more relevant in a context marked by cost pressures, supply chain disruptions, airport saturation and a sustained increase in demand for international flights. While several airlines showed volatility in their indicators, Aeroméxico managed to maintain levels close to or above 90% for practically the entire year, without prolonged periods of operational deterioration.

Cirium stressed that the punctuality achieved is not an isolated achievement, but the result of disciplined processes, clear priorities and an organizational culture focused on reliability. Under the strategic direction of CEO Andrés Conesa and the operational leadership of Santiago Diago, COO of the company, Aeroméxico strengthened coordination between frontline teams, operational planning and leadership, with emphasis on accountability and continuous improvement.

CONSOLIDATION OF YOUR INTERNATIONAL NETWORK

In parallel with high operational performance, the airline made progress in consolidating its international network. In 2025, it announced new long-range routes, such as Mexico City–Barcelona, with six weekly frequencies, and the first Monterrey–Paris flight, in addition to strengthening its transatlantic connectivity through alliances and codeshare agreements within SkyTeam, including its link with SAS.

The expansion, executed without compromising punctuality, demonstrates a mature operating base and efficient resource planning, key factors to sustain long-term growth.

Recognition also has strategic implications. Air punctuality translates into concrete commercial advantages, especially among corporate travelers, for whom compliance with itineraries is a decisive element when choosing an airline.

For Cirium, Aeroméxico’s achievement establishes a benchmark in the global industry. “By obtaining consecutive punctuality titles, the airline demonstrates a sustained commitment to operational excellence that benefits passengers, strengthens its competitiveness and raises the standard of the sector,” the firm noted.
